I was recently contacted by Sky Zone, the world’s first indoor trampoline park! They invited me to try out the Sky Fit fitness class at the Elmhurst location in the Chicago area. I pictured myself jumping my heart out on the trampolines, just like being a kid again, while getting a great work at the same time–how could I say no?!?!
Sky Zone has lots of fun programs for the whole family:
**Sky Fit: Burn up to 1,000 calories an hour on our wall-to-wall trampolines! Sky Fit is low-impact, healthy fun that combines calisthenics, core exercises and strength-building aerobics. **Toddler Time: If they can walk, they can jump! Toddler Time at Sky Zone is a special time just for the little ones, where they can explore exciting new ways to be active, all while staying safe. All Toddler Time activities are specifically designed for children.
Sky Fit classes are offered Mondays @ 9am, Thursdays at 6pm, and Saturdays at 10am at the Elmhurst location. Classes are $10 per session, or $80 for 10 classes. I also received a pair of pink Sky Zone socks that had little grippers on the bottom so that I didn’t slip!
I had a great time at Sky Fit and definitely worked up a sweat! We warmed up by jumping laps around the ring, and then stretched and jumped on individual trampolines.
The majority of the class was spent doing a variety of exercises using the trampolines, like mountain climbers, planks, and tuck jumps, and in between was spent in “resting position”, or jumping in place.
The class included lots of cardio and some body weight strength training. The instructor also incorporated in a TRX system too!
